Case summary

The Australian Conciliation and Arbitration Commission adopts a test case standard for leave sought by parents adopting a child. Such parents are entitled to up to 52 weeks unpaid leave where a child has not attained the age of five years, and the female employee in question has been in continuous service with an employer for not less than 12 months immediately preceding the date leave begins.
